The quantity and the quality of our sleep is integral to both our physical and mental health, yet it continues to elude us. The Great British Sleep Survey 2020 reported that only 11% of British adults regularly sleep soundly through the night and 45% still feel tired on waking up. A better understanding of the importance sleep, optimal conditions for rest and what prevents us getting a good night’s sleep could be beneficial.
