An increasing number of young people are experiencing mental health problems – and 70% of those people are not getting appropriate interventions at a sufficiently early age.
The Young Jami Committee bring light to mental health for young adults, by encouraging open, positive and meaningful conversations in an aim to put an end to stigma and discrimination, while raising money and awareness for Jami.
“Young people are the future of the community and being able to talk about mental health openly puts our community in a strong place for the future.” – The Young Jami Committee
The Young Jami launch event attended by 180 people, included Luciana Berger as guest speaker. Past events include an evening with long time Jami supporter Jonny Benjamin MBE who shared his story with a sold-out room of young professionals, as well as a series of smaller events focused on giving individuals tools to support both their own and other people’s mental health; a free boxing class every two months and a series of Mental Health First Aid training courses for young professionals.
