This innovative service delivers peer support to people who use Jami’s service. The ethos is around recovery, and the belief that people with serious mental health problems can and do recover. Peer support is delivered by people who have lived experience of mental ill health. They use this experience to support and encourage others along their recovery path.

Peer support involves building positive and supportive relationships with clients to enable them to develop their support plans, aspirations and goals. This will help to improve their quality of life and social functioning. Problem solving and offering coping strategies is equally important.

How does this peer support service work?

The structure of the peer support service encompasses both closed and open groups, as well as 1:1 support and drop ins to make this service accessible to all.
