Open Mic Night at Head Room for MHAW
Open Mic 5-7:30pm
This Mental Health Awareness Week (12–18 May), the theme is ‘Community’ – and we’re marking it with something that brings our own Head Room community to life: Open Mic Night.
Whether you’re performing or just enjoying the show, this evening is about coming together and celebrating the creativity and connection that make our community so special.
We believe that community is vital to our mental health. It reminds us we’re not alone, gives us space to be seen and heard, and holds us through life’s ups and downs. Our Open Mic Night is one of those spaces – joyful, welcoming, and full of heart.
✨ Want to perform? Email karen.conway@jamiuk.org to book a 5-minute slot.
✨ Just coming to watch and listen? Doors open at 5:00pm. Performances begin at 5:30pm.
Come along, be part of it, and let’s celebrate the magic of community together 🙂
Here are some examples of what an Open Mic performance might be:
• Reading a piece you have written – such as a poem, some spoken word or a short story
• Playing an instrument and or singing
• Stand up (or sit down!) comedy
• Dancing
• A short piece of theatre
• Sharing something you have created, like a comic book, or some artwork
• Or something else!
