Come and try mindfulness online with us
The course is FREE to those using Jami services.
Jami has partnered with HaMakom, a charity offering practices and teachings of Jewish mindfulness for the wellbeing of the community. These sessions offer you a taste of mindfulness that are designed as a gentle introduction to the practice as well as offering a different theme each week related to Jewish tradition and culture.
What does mindfulness do?
It teaches us to be more present in the here and now rather than being caught up in distracting thoughts
How can it benefit us?
It can help us manage anxieties and stress
Who can attend?
Anyone who uses Jami services are welcome. We advise you to check in with us if you have any concerns at [email protected]
How many sessions are there?
There will be nine one-hour sessions – each with a different theme – consisting of short meditations, discussion and small groups*
When and what time?
8–9pm, Sundays on 20 November, 18 December, 22 January, 19 February, 19 March, 23 April, 21 May, 18 June and 23 July
Example of some of the themes:
Jewish culture emphasises savouring what we have around us. In an age of sensory overload, can we better develop our connection with sight, smell, touch and hearing to enrich our lives?
Jewish people have been pioneers in exploring the cosmos, the world, society and the psyche. Can we become similarly inspired to engage in our own mindful explorations?
Together we will work with a sense of allowing us to be just who we are as unique individuals – right here and right now – just as we are, just as the world is, without feeling the need to be anywhere else or anyone else.
*You do not have to commit to all the sessions, but we would encourage you to join as many as possible
Online bookings will close 5 hours before the event. There may still be availability – please email [email protected]
We hope to continue to offer our mindfulness sessions for free, but if you would like to donate, please complete the form below.
