“We had an inspiring Mental Health Awareness Shabbat a couple of weeks ago and I wish to congratulate JAMI on its impressive work!” Dayan Elimelech Vanzetta

Northwood United Synagogue

“I was inspired to address our community at Northwood US this year on the theme of Mental Health awareness.  I spoke about my involvement with reference to a corporate Initiative and went on to explain my vision for Northwood as a leader in Mental Health community awareness.  I had a terrific response and am planning to host an event at our home to agree some next steps, with the full support of our Shul Chair.” Howard Morgan

Rambam Sephardi, Elstree and Borehamwood

“I spoke about mental health and wellbeing at Rambam Sephardi Service in Yavneh College to mark Mental Health Awareness Shabbat.  It went really well with interest, as a result, in setting up a community support network.” Annette Henley

Manchester Reform Synagogue

“We had a very powerful Mental Health Awareness Shabbat here in Manchester.  We did a Torah breakfast where we talked about mental health in the Torah and then for our Jewish toolkit for maintaining wellbeing – I’d collated some prayers for anxiety/depression and ‘for a bad day’ etc.  I delivered a sermon and Rabbi Silverman re-wrote the morning blessings on this theme. Since then, Rabbi Silverman has been running wellbeing sessions every month before the service and we are looking at ways, as a community, to continue our work in ending the stigma surrounding mental health”  Rabbi Robyn Ashworth-Steen
